• User content: Posts, comments, and interactions you choose to share within the platform.
• Technical data: Basic server logs such as IP address, browser type, and access time (automatically collected by Webflow for security and performance).

We do not collect sensitive personal data or use any tracking or advertising cookies.

3. Purpose of Processing

Your data is processed for the following purposes:

• To register and manage your AEO Society member account
• To enable interaction and communication among members
• To maintain website functionality and security
• To respond to inquiries and provide community support

We process personal data solely for community and operational purposes — never for marketing or resale.

As AEO Society operates within the EU, data is processed under the following legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR):

5. Hosting and Service Providers

Our website is hosted on Webflow, which processes data on secure servers located in the European Union and/or the United States.
Email services are provided by Strato AG (Germany).

Both service providers comply with GDPR standards and implement technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data.

If personal data is transferred outside the EU, such transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We currently do not use cookies or analytics tools that track users.
If cookies or tracking tools are introduced in the future, a Cookie Banner will appear, allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies before any data is stored.

7. Data Retention

• Account data is stored for as long as your membership is active.
• Posts or interactions remain visible until deleted by you or by request.
• Technical logs are typically deleted automatically after 30 days.
• If you delete your account, all personal data will be removed unless legal retention obligations apply.

We use secure hosting, HTTPS encryption, and limited-access databases to protect your personal data.
All transmissions between your device and our servers are encrypted.
